A náci és a kommunista uralom alatt azon munkálkodott, hogy létrehozzák a Szabad Egyházak Szövetségét (1944) majd Tanácsát (1950), hogy abban összefogják és segítsék a különböző evangéliumi mozgalmakat, kisegyházakat. A magyarországi Keresztyén Testvér Gyülekezet alapító és mindvégig meghatározó személyisége volt.
Fontosnak tartotta, hogy az Ige alapján igehirdetéseinek középpontjába Isten és Jézus Krisztus álljon, még akkor is, amikor életének egyes részletéről tett bizonyságot, vagy éppen számtalan külföldi útjáról tartott beszámolót. Mindezek útmutatóak, előremutatóak voltak, és eligazítást nyújtottak azok számára, akik hallgatták. Kimondhatjuk nyugodtan, hogy amit mondott, prófétai előrelátásról tanúskodott. Álljon így előttünk, és olvassuk ezt az összeállítást hálás szívvel, hogy volt lehetőség ezeket az igeszolgálatokat meghallgatni, leírni, megőrizni, és az Úr kegyelméből kincsként az olvasók kezébe adni.
English Summary:
Dr. Ferenc Kiss (1889-1966) served his people and his country as an outstanding medical professor. In September 1929, at the age of forty, he was already in Szeged as an appointed professor at the Institute of Anatomy because the University of Cluj was transferred to Szeged. From 1931 he was director of the Budapest Institute of Anatomy. In 1952 he received the Kossuth Prize. He received two honors from the French Academy of Sciences, was selected as a correspondent member of the English Academy of Medicine, and spent two months in the Soviet Union with high honors. He has written eight university textbooks, co-authored with John Szentágothai, and his Anatomical Atlas has been translated into more than ten languages.
He was involved in the rescue of Jews in World War II. During the Nazi and Communist years he worked to establish the Alliance of Free Churches (1944) and then the Council (1950) to unite and assist various gospel movements and small churches. He was a founding and ever-defining personality of the Christian Church in Hungary.
He found it important that God and Jesus Christ should be at the center of his preaching of the Word, even as he testified of details of his life or reported on his many foreign journeys. All of these were forward-looking, and gave guidance to those who listened. We can say with certainty that what he said was prophetic foresight.
