Of the nearly 200 flute sonatas composed by Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773) this volume contains five, edited by the outstanding Baroque flautist Benedek Csalog, who had already recorded them based on the extant manuscripts. Composed in an Italianate style, these inventive pieces appear here in print for the first time. This edition gives two versions of the accompaniment: as a separate figured bass part, and as a realization, made by Rita Papp. The preface preceding the score contains useful information about the editorial principles underlying the publication, and practical tips for an authentic performance of the music.

Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773) mintegy 200 fuvolaszonátája közül a jelen kötetben ötöt adott közre a kiváló barokk fuvolista, Csalog Benedek. Az olaszos stílusban komponált, invenciózus darabokat a művész a fennmaradt kéziratok alapján már korábban lemezre játszotta, nyomtatásban azonban e kiadásban jelentek meg először. A kötet a kíséretet kétféleképpen: külön szólamkottában számozott basszusként, valamint kidolgozott formában is tartalmazza - ez utóbbit Papp Rita készítette. A kottaszöveget megelőző előszó hasznos információkat nyújt a közreadás elveiről, és gyakorlati tanácsokat ad a művek korhű megszólaltatásához.
