Fillérekért éppúgy magasztalta Istent, mint amikor százezreket kapott. 1836-tól 1898-ig több mint tízezer árvát nevelt fel, 150 misszionáriust tartott el, több mint kétmillió Bibliát és különféle evangéliumi iratot osztott szét. 70 éves volt, amikor utazni kezdett. 42 országot látogatott meg (többek
között Magyarországon is járt), és több ezer alkalommal tett bizonyságot Isten hűségéről.
