György Káldi's Bible translation was published in Vienna in 1626. The publication is a reprint edition of this first complete Hungarian printed Catholic Bible.

The Bible translation was carried out at the initiative and encouragement of the Jesuit monk György Káldi Péter Pázmány.

The reprint edition was realized in the framework of the exemplary cooperation of TINTA Könyvkiadó, Pytheas Könyvmanufaktúra and the Kalocsa Cathedral Library.

The Catholic Bible translation of György Káldi, together with the Protestant Vizsolyi Bible of Gáspár Károlyi, published in 1591, is a precious treasure of Hungarian religious literature, Hungarian culture and the Hungarian language. Káldi translated the texts with extreme care, brilliantly edited the sentences and selected the words. In later times, such as the age of language renewal, Ferenc Kazinczy himself spoke of Káldi with the greatest possible appreciation, and it was actually then that the Káldi Bible took its rightful place in the development of the Hungarian literary language.

Bécsben 1626-ban jelent meg Káldi György bibliafordítása. A kiadvány ennek az első teljes magyar nyomtatott katolikus Bibliának a reprint kiadása. 

A bibliafordítást Káldi György jezsuita szerzetes Pázmány Péter kezde­ményezésére és ösztönzésére végezte. 

A reprint kiadás a TINTA Könyvkiadó, a Pytheas Könyvmanufaktúra és a Kalocsai Főszékesegyházi Könyvtár példás együttműködése keretében valósult meg. 

Káldi György katolikus bibliafordítása az 1591-ben megjelent Károlyi Gáspár protestáns Vizsolyi Bibliájával együtt a magyar vallási irodalom, a magyar kultúra és a magyar nyelv becses kincse. Káldi rendkívüli körültekintéssel fordította a szövegeket, ragyogóan szerkesztette a mondatokat, illetve válogatta a szava­kat. A későbbi korokban, így a nyelvújítás korában maga Kazinczy Ferenc a lehető legnagyobb elismeréssel beszél Káldiról és tulajdonképpen ekkor lép méltó helyére a Káldi Biblia a magyar irodalmi nyelv kialakulásában.
