She is an avid supporter of contemporary classical music, and several composers have written works specifically for her. After her contract expired, Hahn signed with the Deutsche Grammophon label in 2003, and by the age of 28 she had won several awards, including two Grammy Awards (2002 and 2008). This recording would later contribute to her growing legacy of acclaimed performances.
Jennifer Higdon's Violin Concerto was later awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Music. The concerto has a duration of roughly 33 minutes and is composed in three movements: "1726" – named after the address of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, 1726 Locust Street, where Higdon is a professor.
