Fathers' Day (Hungarian: Apák napja) is a 1997 American comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman and features a stellar cast including Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Nastassja Kinski. The film serves as a remake of the 1983 French film Les Compères.

The story revolves around Scott Andrews, a 17-year-old who runs away from home with his girlfriend, Nikki. His mother, Collette, visits her ex-boyfriend, lawyer Jack Lawrence, to inform him that Scott is actually his son and pleads with him to find the boy. Initially reluctant, Jack eventually agrees to help. Meanwhile, writer Dale Putley, who is contemplating suicide, receives a similar call from Collette, who is also one of his ex-girlfriends. Realizing he has a client meeting that will keep him in town overnight, Jack decides to join the search for Scott.

The two men begin their quest with the help of Russ, Nikki's father. Although Russ doesn't provide much assistance, it leads to Jack and Dale meeting. They mistakenly believe that they are looking for two different missing sons, thinking both boys are involved with Nikki. They decide to work together on their cases.

Their journey takes them to Nikki's mother, Shirley, who informs them that Nikki has left to follow the rock band Sugar Ray. When they realize that Collette has told them both the same story about being Scott's father, they call her, and she admits she doesn't know which man is the real father. However, she urges them to find Scott before resolving the situation. The two men agree to continue their search and head to Sacramento, where they find Scott, who is drunk and heartbroken after being dumped by Nikki.

As they bring Scott back to their hotel room, he wakes up to the unsettling news that one of them might be his father, which does not sit well with him, especially since Nikki is on the road with Sugar Ray. In a humorous twist, Scott escapes by pouring coffee over Dale's testicles, leading to a series of comedic misadventures as they head to Reno for Sugar Ray's next performance.
