This is exactly what a live album should be — a band in full flight, captured on tour, no polish added after the fact. Feelin' Alive was recorded during Julian Sas's Coming Home Tour 2016 and released the following year. Nine tracks. The full band. The room.

Julian Sas has been one of the Netherlands' most consistent blues-rock guitarists since the mid-1990s, building a European following through relentless live work rather than radio play. The sound on this record is Marshall-driven, physically direct, and unambiguous — guitar front and centre, Roland Bakker's organ filling the space behind it, Rob Heijne and Fotis Anagnostou holding the bottom end solid.

Track 8 is a cover of Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited." Track 9 closes with "Bullfrog Blues," a traditional arranged by the band. The rest is original Sas material.

This copy carries full band signatures on the back cover and Julian Sas's personal signature on the inside booklet photo. The inner note — handwritten in the booklet — reads: "crank up the sound, let the music touch your soul... and Jump For Joy."

• Julian Sas has been active as a professional guitarist since the mid-1990s and has released multiple studio and live albums, building his following almost exclusively through touring across Europe.
• The Coming Home Tour 2016 marked over two decades of continuous touring for Sas and his band — the liner note references "more than 22 years on the road."
