Overview

Twenty-one blues acts. Twenty-one countries. Three nights in Horsens, Denmark.

The 7th European Blues Challenge took place April 6th, 7th and 8th, 2017, organized by the European Blues Union. Every act on this disc earned their place — each one the national representative of their country, selected through domestic competitions before making the trip to Denmark.

The lineup spans Austria to Northern Ireland. Austria's Blues Infusion opens with a cover of a Screamin' Jay Hawkins classic. Belgium's Bluesbones, France's Gaelle Buswel, Hungary's Borsodi Blues Collective, the Kaz Hawkins Band from Northern Ireland closing things out with "Belfast Town." Twenty-one tracks, twenty-one bands, zero filler. Just live-competition blues from across the continent.

This copy carries two handwritten signatures on the front cover — a physical connection to the event itself.
