Живучи в США, де Валерій Громов навчався у біблійному інституті для здобуття ступеня доктора теології, він у 1995 році переклав з грецької (Текстус Рецептус) на російську мову Новий Завіт й видав його в Америці за підтримки International Bible Society. Згодом, повернувшись в Україну Громов вдруге видав свій російськомовний переклад Нового завіту, але цього разу друком вийшла вже повна Біблія (і Новий Завіт і Старий Завіт), однак для Старого Завіту він не робив власний переклад, а використав російськомовний синодальний переклад РПЦ. У 2000 році вийшло третє видання Громового перекладу, цього разу знову лише його власного російськомовного перекладу Нового Завіту, під назвою «Євангеліє Царства». Опісля, Громов розпочав переклад Старого Завіту з єврейської та арамейської (Масоретський текст) на російську мову. Також з кінця 1990-х рр. В. Громов працював над перекладом Біблії українською мовою. 

Четверте видання його перекладу Нового Завіту було вже двомовним: українсько-російським. Воно вийшло в 2009 році. У передмові до видання Нового Завіту під назвою «Вічне Євангеліє» вказано, що український переклад зроблено з грецької, а російський удосконалено. До цього четвертого перевидання Громов додав два скорочених біблійних словника — український і російський, а також грецько-український і грецько-російський словники.

У вересні 2020 року вийшов повний переклад Біблія Громова з грецької (Новий Завіт) та єврейської/арамейської (Старий Завіт) на українську та російську мови під назвою «Біблія або Вічне Євангеліє».

While living in the USA, where Valery Gromov studied at a Bible institute to obtain a doctorate in theology, he translated the New Testament from Greek (Textus Receptus) into Russian in 1995 and published it in America with the support of the International Bible Society. Later, after returning to Ukraine, Gromov published his Russian-language translation of the New Testament for the second time, but this time the complete Bible (both the New Testament and the Old Testament) was printed, but for the Old Testament he did not make his own translation, but used the Russian-language synodal translation of the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2000, the third edition of the Thunder translation was published, this time again only his own Russian-language translation of the New Testament, entitled "The Gospel of the Kingdom". Later, Gromov began translating the Old Testament from Hebrew and Aramaic (Masoretic text) into Russian. Also, from the end of the 1990s, V. Gromov worked on the translation of the Bible into Ukrainian.

The fourth edition of his translation of the New Testament was already bilingual: Ukrainian-Russian. It came out in 2009. In the preface to the edition of the New Testament called "Eternal Gospel" it is stated that the Ukrainian translation was made from Greek, and the Russian one was improved. To this fourth reprint, Gromov added two abridged Bible dictionaries — Ukrainian and Russian, as well as Greek-Ukrainian and Greek-Russian dictionaries.

In September 2020, a complete translation of Gromov's Bible from Greek (New Testament) and Hebrew/Aramaic (Old Testament) into Ukrainian and Russian was released under the title "The Bible or the Eternal Gospel".
