Overview
Three contemporary works are performed by the Royal Swedish Chamber Orchestra under Mats Liljefors: Shostakovich’s Sinfonietta (1960), a string-orchestra arrangement of his autobiographical Quartet No. 8; Rosenberg’s Lento (1956), a protest work following the events in Hungary; and Lowenstein’s Tellus Mater (1980), recorded here for the first time.
