Overview

Jonas Kaufmann turns from grand opera to the glittering songbook of Berlin's golden age — the operetta and film hits that made tenors like Richard Tauber and Joseph Schmidt the superstars of the 1920s and early "talkie" era. Du bist die Welt für mich is his tribute to that repertoire, sung with the warmth and heft of one of the finest tenors of his generation.

This is the limited Super Deluxe box, and it's the version collectors want. Alongside the main album you get a full-length concert DVD filmed at Berlin's legendary Nalepastraße broadcasting house, a "Making of" bonus DVD, and a second CD — You Mean the World to Me — that gathers seven of the songs in English and French, including "You Are My Heart's Delight" and "Girls Were Made to Love and Kiss."
