Several of his research papers have been published in national and international journals, and he has also acted as the adviser for the Oxford Atlas for Pakistan (OUP 1981). In addition to his other academic activities, he is the author of Pakistan: Geography, Economy, and People (New Edition, OUP 2006) a core textbook for O Level Pakistan Studies, Paper 2, endorsed by Cambridge International Examinations.
