Overview

Take the idea of the Three Tenors and turn it inside out. Replace the opera house with a hard rock stage. Replace Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras with four of Hungary's most unmistakable rock voices — Deák Bill Gyula's gravel-blues growl, Tunyogi Péter's classic P. Mobil snarl, Varga Miklós's stadium-sized power, and Vikidál Gyula's metal-edged authority. Back them with the original P. Mobil band. Run it for 133 minutes. That is 4 Rocktenor.

Twenty-eight tracks pulled from across the entire P. Mobil songbook. "Rocktóber", "Miskolc", "Varjúdal", "Lámpagyár", "Csillag leszel", "Mobilizmo", "Utolsó cigaretta", "Örökmozgó". Every voice gets their moments — and then they trade off, harmonize, and pile in on each other for the choruses. The energy on screen is the kind of thing that only happens when four singers who all carried this band at different eras stand on the same stage and refuse to be outdone.

This signed copy carries all four autographs across the front. That is the catch. Tunyogi Péter — the iconic P. Mobil voice of the late '70s and reunion years — passed away in 2009. Deák Bill Gyula passed in 2024. A four-signature copy with both of them on it cannot be created again.

Interesting Facts

P. Mobil was founded in Budapest in 1973 by guitarist Schuster Lóránt, and it remains one of the most influential and longest-running hard rock bands in Hungarian music history — often called the "Hungarian Deep Purple" or "Hungarian AC/DC". The band has had an unusually rich history of vocalists, which is exactly what made the 4 Rocktenor concept possible: each of the four featured singers spent significant time as P. Mobil's frontman or close collaborator. Tunyogi Péter was the band's defining voice from 1979 through the 1980s and again in the 2000s reunion era; he passed away in 2009. Vikidál Gyula fronted the band in 1980–1981 and went on to play the lead role of Koppány in the legendary 1983 rock opera István, a király. Varga Miklós, also famous for his role as István in the same rock opera, brought stadium-rock power to the lineup. Deák Bill Gyula, "The Blues Boss" of Hungarian music and longtime Hobo Blues Band collaborator, added authentic blues weight to the project; he passed away in 2024. The track "A zöld, a bíbor és a fekete" is itself a song from István, a király, giving the concert a direct link to the most important Hungarian rock opera ever staged.

A P.
