Overview

Four Beethoven violin sonatas recorded in a single live concert — that's a demanding programme by any standard, and Ibragimova and Tiberghien pull it off with the kind of focus that makes 82 minutes feel compact. The disc opens with the early D major Op. 12 No. 1, moves through the stormy A minor Op. 23, then the lighter G major Op. 30 No. 3, and closes with the substantial C minor Op. 30 No. 2.
