Following up from the acclaimed album 'Introducing Open Combo', 33 Jazz is pleased to announce the release of the Siena-based musician Silvia Bolognesi's new recording.

The album contributes to 33's ongoing project to introduce European musicians to a wider world audience.

It features musicians from the Siena Jazz Foundation, the album highlights the group's playing and Silvia's arranging and compositional skills.

Bassist and composer Silvia Bolognesi was born in Sienna in 1974 and began playing the double bass with Maestro A.Granai, graduating in 2004 at the Siena Conservatoire. She is an experienced classical musician playing operas and symphonies with various professional orchestras.

At the same time she has also performed with Italian jazz musicians such as Stefano Battaglia, Paolino Dalla Porta, F. Sferra, M. Raya, P. Leveratto and American musicians such as Muhal Richard Abrams, Roscoe Mitchell, Anthony Braxton and Butch Morris. She has continued the study of jazz bass with William Parker.
