Overview
Here is a piece of genuine history for your collection. This vintage Soviet red banner features a huge State Emblem of the USSR printed right in the middle. The graphic uses a bright metallic gold paint with a light blue globe that stands out against the deep red cloth. The text across the top ribbon praise the Soviet workers as the builders of communism.
Down at the bottom corners, there is a cool industrial graphic showing a smoking factory plant on one side and a hydro-electric power dam on the other. The flag is lightweight and has a bright golden fringe stitched along the bottom edge. There is some minor wear along the corners from actual use, but it still has the original factory stamp visible on the back corner.
Interesting Facts
- Look close at the back corner and you can see a authentic blue ink factory stamp. It has hand written numbers showing the exact official size of 1.00 by 0.70 meters.
- The central coat of arms has exactly 15 ribbons wrapping around the wheat ears. Each one represents a different Soviet republic with the famous phrase "Proletarians of all countries, unite!" written in their own language.
- These banners were mostly made for indoor use in school classrooms, community centers, or local party offices.
- The lightweight silk material was chosen so it could hang nicely on office walls or be easily carried during local holiday parades.
