Overview

Signs (Hungarian title Jelek) is M. Night Shyamalan's 2002 alien-invasion thriller, and this Region 2 Hungarian DVD carries the full multilingual package — Hungarian, English, Czech, and Turkish 5.1 audio with subtitles in seven languages. Mel Gibson plays Graham Hess, a former priest who wakes to find an enormous crop circle carved into his cornfield. What starts as a possible prank deepens into something far stranger as the marks multiply and the family's fear grows.

Shyamalan, fresh off The Sixth Sense, trades jump scares for slow dread. The tension builds through what you don't see: a half-glimpse on a baby monitor, a shape at the edge of a field, the family's quiet unraveling. Gibson anchors it with restraint, and Joaquin Phoenix brings warmth as his brother Merrill. It's a film about faith and coincidence as much as it is about visitors from elsewhere.

For collectors of early-2000s genre cinema and Shyamalan's run of mystery thrillers, this is a clean Region 2 pressing with strong technical specs and a generous subtitle spread.
