The need to have an extensive manual in teaching the Law of God is dictated by modern, special, unprecedented conditions:
1. In most schools, the Law of God is not taught, but all natural sciences taught in a purely materialistic way.

3. The textbooks of the old edition have already been sold out, it is almost impossible to get them. Moreover, not all textbooks of the old edition may fully satisfy the requirements and requests
modern children. All these specified conditions and other circumstances of our difficult times impose on parents, on all educators of children and, especially, on teachers of the Law of God
huge responsibility. Besides, no one knows what will happen tomorrow—whether there will be a child to learn the Law of God or not, maybe tomorrow his family will move to a place where there is no
there will be no church school, no temple, no priest. This circumstance alone does not give in the very first grades we are limited to simple (without any explanation) telling the child the events of sacred History, as was done before, when programs spanning many years.

In our time, it is necessary to avoid telling the Law of God in the form of a naive fairy tale. (as they say “childishly”), because a child will understand it like a fairy tale. When will he be an adult?
then there will be a gap between the teaching of the Law of God and the perception of the world, as we and We often see it in the life around us. Many modern people with higher education, knowledge in the field of the Law of God remained only from the school bench of the first classes, i.e. in the most primitive form, which, of course, cannot satisfy everyone the demands of the adult mind. And the children themselves, growing up in modern conditions and developing faster than usual, often the most serious and painful questions. Questions that many parents and adults are completely unable to answer.
All these circumstances put forward the primary task - to give into the hands not only children in a church school, but also the parents themselves, teachers and educators, and better yet tell the family - the school of the Law of God. To do this, as practice shows, it is necessary to give one book containing all the fundamentals of Christian faith and life. Due to the fact that many of the students may never pick up the Bible, but will be content with only one textbook, then this situation requires textbook the absolute correctness of the transmission of the Word of God. Should not be allowed only distortions, but even the slightest inaccuracy in the presentation of the Word of God. We have seen many textbooks, especially for elementary grades, in which inaccuracies and sometimes even incorrectness were allowed in the transmission of the Word of God. Необходимость иметь обширное пособие в преподавании Закона Божия диктуется современными, особенными, небывалыми условиями: 1. В большинстве школ Закону Божиему не учат, а все естественные науки преподаются сугубо материалистически. 2. Большинство русских детей и молодежи находится в окружении иностранной среды, среди различных вероисповеданий и рационалистических сект. 3. Учебники старого издания уже все распроданы, их достать почти невозможно. Кроме того, не все учебники старого издания могут вполне удовлетворять требованиям и запросам современных детей. Все эти указанные условия и другие обстоятельства нашего трудного времени налагают на родителей, на всех воспитателей детей и, особенно, на преподавателей Закона Божия огромную ответственность. Кроме того, никто не знает, что будет завтра, — будет ли данный ребенок учить Закон Божий или нет, может быть завтра семья его переедет в место, где не будет ни церковной школы, ни храма, ни священника. Уже это одно обстоятельство не дает нам возможности в самых первых классах ограничиваться простым (без всяких пояснений) рассказыванием ребенку событий священной Истории, как это делалось раньше, при программах, рассчитанных на много лет. В наше время необходимо избегать рассказывать Закон Божий в форме наивной сказки (как говорят «по-детски»), ибо ребенок и поймет его, как сказку. Когда же будет взрослым, у него произойдет разрыв между учением Закона Божия и восприятием мира, как это мы и наблюдаем нередко в окружающей нас жизни. У многих современных людей с высшим образованием знания в области Закона Божия остались только со школьной скамьи первых классов, т. е. в самой примитивной форме, которая, конечно, не может удовлетворять всем запросам ума взрослого человека. Да и у самих детей, растущих в современных условиях и развивающихся быстрее обычного, часто возникают самые серьезные и мучительные вопросы. Такие вопросы, на которые многие родители и взрослые совершенно не в силах ответить. Все эти обстоятельства выдвигают первостепенную задачу, — дать в руки не только детям в церковной школе, но и самим родителям, преподавателям и воспитателям, а лучше сказать семье, — школу Закона Божия. Для этого, как показывает практика, необходимо дать одну книгу, заключающую в себе все основы христианской веры и жизни. Ввиду того, что многие из учащихся может быть никогда не возьмут в руки Св. Библию, а будут довольствоваться только одним учебником, то такое положение требует от учебника абсолютную правильность передачи Слова Божия. Не должно быть допущено не только искажения, но даже малейшей неточности в изложении Слова Божия. 

Нам приходилось видеть многие учебники, особенно для младших классов, в которых допускались неточности, а порой и неправильности в передаче Слова Божия. Приведем несколько примеров, начиная с мелких.
