Overview

Marsbéli Krónikák (The Martian Chronicles) is the album that made Solaris one of the most respected progressive rock bands to come out of Hungary — and a cult name among prog fans worldwide. Inspired by Ray Bradbury, it's a mostly instrumental, richly melodic suite built on soaring flute, layered keyboards, and guitar.

The centrepiece is the multi-part "Marsbéli Krónikák" suite itself, but the whole record holds together as one cinematic journey: "Mars Poetica," "Apokalipszis," the title-nod "Solaris," "A sárga kör." Kollár Attila's flute is the signature voice, gliding over the band's tight, symphonic arrangements.

For lovers of European progressive rock, this is a genuine classic — atmospheric, ambitious, and beautifully played.
