Overview

Hawaii is the album where the Chilean band Aisles went all in. Their fourth studio record, it's a double-disc science-fiction concept piece: Earth is dying, and humanity launches a project to survive among space colonies. Across twelve tracks it follows the people caught inside that future and what it does to them.

The music matches the scope. This is melody-first progressive rock — long, patient builds, layered vocal harmonies from Sebastián Vergara, twin guitars, and a sound that reviewers kept comparing to Rush, Camel, Genesis and early Porcupine Tree. The two-part opener "The Poet" sets the tone, and "CH-7" closes the first disc at over twelve minutes of slow-burning beauty.

By the second disc the prog labels start to fall away. "Club Hawaii" turns theatrical, with a full cast of voice actors, while "Falling" and the closing "In the Probe" drift toward something tender and Marillion-like. It's ambitious and emotionally driven in equal measure.

Roughly 78 minutes of music across two discs, packaged in a digipak with the artwork and lyrics that the concept really asks you to follow.
