This elegant release from Naxos presents the complete set of six pioneering concertos written specifically for five transverse flutes without bass accompaniment by French Baroque master Joseph Bodin de Boismortier. Recorded at l'Église de Vertault in Côte d'Or, France, from November 15th to 17th, 1995, the album highlights the elite lineup of flutists from the celebrated ensemble Concert Spirituel, under the production of Frédéric Briant. Spanning through keys of G major, A minor, D major, B minor, A major, and E minor, these vibrant pieces brilliantly exploit the polyphonic warmth, texture, and elegant balance of the historic flute choir.
