There are more comprehensive collections on the market, but novices on a strict budget will find this quite useful.

Review:
An excellent sampler of some of Mahalia Jackson's greatest hits. This is quality stuff, and some of the greatest gospel singing you're ever likely to hear. The sheer power of her voice is truly a marvel, and she infuses these songs with such passion and fervor that you'd have to be comatose to remain unmoved. Very good stuff, even if her diction is giggle worthy at some points. Still, in the gospel realm it really doesn't get much better than this. If you're not careful this could make a believer out of you.
