A Centuries-Old Tradition: Performing Brahms' Requiem in the historic Kreuzkirche is a cherished annual tradition for the world-famous Dresdner Kreuzchor, one of the oldest boy choirs in Europe with a history spanning over 700 years.
Consolation for the Living: Brahms compiled the text himself entirely from the German Luther Bible. Rather than focusing on liturgical prayers for the dead, he explicitly designed the piece to offer hope, love, and grief-healing to those left behind.
