Overview
Nagy Feró — born Ferenc Bizják in 1946 — is one of the founding figures of Hungarian rock music. As the frontman of Beatrice, one of Hungary's most influential and controversial rock bands from the late 1970s onward, he became a symbol of Hungarian punk and hard rock and a persistent provocateur in Hungarian cultural life. His self-description — "Provokáció a puszta létem!" ("My very existence is provocation!") — printed in the booklet here, captures the posture he has maintained for five decades.
Feró 75 — Ahogy ti zenéltek... ("The way you played it...") is a 2021 tribute album assembled for his 75th birthday, bringing together 32 Hungarian bands and artists to perform their own versions of songs from his catalogue. The participating names span the full range of contemporary Hungarian rock and pop: from established acts like Republic, Mobilmánia, Phoenix Rt., and Kalapács to newer names like Sugarloaf, Omen, and Ricse Old Stars, with guest appearances by Keresztes Ildikó & Varga Miklós, Ismerős Arcok, and Ákos.
The concept is straightforward — each band plays the song in their own style — and the result is a genuine document of how broadly Feró's songwriting has penetrated Hungarian rock culture. The booklet contains a personal dedication from his son Hunor and archival Beatrice photographs alongside contemporary images.
