This CD was first released in 1994 by Label Noir in France. Later it was licensed to Aquincum Archive Productions, and they released the second edition in 1998.

At the first edition in 1994, Cochereau was already dead, but Guillou, Kistétényi and Varnus were still present at the CD's press conference on the final day at the Zalaegerszeg International Organ Festival. (Guillou improvised at the opening night of the festival, and the CD was released five days later!)

Today, three of the four organists are dead, and only Varnus is still alive.

This CD has been a rare curiosity for collectors for many years, as it was never released again. All improvisations were recorded at live concerts, and all of them were played in Hungary.

The famous critic of La Presse in Montreal, Claude Gingras said: "This CD was born in rare circumstances, as four of the best improvisers in European organ history play on it. Each improvisation is special, stunning, and ecstatic in its own way.”
