MORRICONE HAS SCORED
"ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST," "A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, "THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS," BRIAN DE PALMA'S "CASUALTIES OF WAR," AND MORE.

From the surrealistic menace of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" to the haunting beauty of "The Mission" and "Cinema Paradiso," the composer Ennio Morricone has created cinematic music that lives in memory even beyond the movies in which it was first heard.
Ennio Morricone: A Man and His Music offers an unusually revealing and intelligent look into Morricone's artistic personality and amazingly prolific and varied career.
With archival footage from some of the best-loved movies that Morricone has scored -- "Once Upon a Time in the West," "A Fistful of Dollars," "The Battle of Algiers," Brian De Palma's "Casualties of War," and more -- as well as interviews with directors and producers such as De Palma, Sergio Leone, David Puttnam, and Bernardo Bertolucci, Ennio Morricone: A Man and His Music explores the composer's life and career from a number of fascinating angles.
We get a close look not only at Morricone the great film composer but also at Morricone the pop-song arranger and Morricone of the Italian musical avant-garde. Morricone's early days as the son of a nightclub trumpeter are evoked, as are his first collaborations with Sergio Leone in the '60's and the powerful impact the composer has made on directors, actors, and viewers ever since. Rare footage of the composer at work with colleagues in the studio adds intimacy and excitement to this compelling, nuanced portrait of an extraordinary force in contemporary music.
