German Summary:

Die 1663/64 von Georg Reichel auf der Ostempore über dem Altar errichtete kleine Orgel mit 6 Registern gehört zu den wertvollsten musikalischen Denkmälern der Stadt Halle. Sie blieb weitgehend original erhalten. Bei der 1972 durch den Alexander-Schuke-Orgelbau (Potsdam) erfolgten umfassenden Restaurierung wurden die ursprüngliche Tonhöhe sowie die originale mitteltönige Stimmung wiederhergestellt. 1984 baute die gleiche Orgelbaufirma auf der Westempore in das historische Gehäuse der nicht mehr erhaltenen Christoph Cuntius-Orgel von 1713/16 eine neue Orgel ein. Das Instrument mit 56 Registern auf drei Manualen und Pedal wurde 2007 durch den Wilhelm-Sauer-Orgelbau (Frankfurt/Oder) generaliiberholt und neu intoniert.

English description:

Georg Reichel’s small organ of 1663/64, with 6 stops, situated on the east end gallery above the altar, is one of the most valuable musical monuments of the city of Halle. It remained largely unaltered. In the comprehensive restoration of 1972, carried out by Alexander-Schulke-Orgelbau (Potsdam), the original pitch and tuning were restored. The same organ builders installed a new organ on the west end gallery in 1984 in the historic case of the Christoph Cuntius organ with its 56 stops on 3 manuals and pedals was an overhaul and retuned by Wilhelm-Sauer Orgelbau (Frankfurt/Oder). The detached console of 1984 was replaced with a console in the organ case.

This film gives a portrait of these instruments. Visuals of both organs and the church interior blend with the organ works played by Irenée Peyrot — complemented by appropriate commentaries on the music and each instrument — are pleasing to the senses, yet informative.
