 The Luther Bible (German: Lutherbibel) is a German language Bible translation from Hebrew and ancient Greek by Martin Luther. The New Testament was first published in 1522 and the complete Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments with Apocrypha, in 1534. It was the first full translation of the Bible into German based mainly on the original Hebrew and Greek texts and not the Latin Vulgate translation.

The project absorbed Luther's later years. Thanks to the then recently invented printing press, the result was widely disseminated and contributed significantly to the development of today's modern High German language.

Die Lutherbibel (Abkürzung LB) ist eine Übersetzung des Alten Testaments aus der althebräischen und der aramäischen Sprache und des Neuen Testaments aus der altgriechischen Sprache in die frühneuhochdeutsche Sprache. Diese Bibelübersetzung wurde von Martin Luther unter Mitarbeit weiterer Theologen angefertigt. Im September 1522 war eine erste Auflage des Neuen Testaments fertig; ab 1534 lag eine deutsche Vollbibel vor, an der Luther zeitlebens weiter Verbesserungen vornahm. 1545 erfolgten die letzten Korrekturen der Biblia Deudsch von Luthers eigener Hand.
