"Christian Reunion" is the only sustained piece of writing by C. S. Lewis on "the questions which divide" the denominations, one of the few subjects he would discuss only rarely. Published here for the first time, despite the years since it was written it still speaks strongly to a topic which is of such interest to Christians of all persuasions today. The other essays in this collection have been unobtainable for some years, and will be a welcome addition to the C. S. Lewis library.

C.S. Lewis is renowned as an author of many  books on Christianity, as well as for a science fiction trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia and many works of literary criticism. He was born in Ireland in 1898, gained a Triple First at Oxford and was Fellow and Tutor at Magdalene College 1925-54, when he became Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge. He died in November 1963, at his home in Oxford. Walter Hooper was born in Reidsville, North Carolina, in 1931. He read theology and then lectured on Medieval and Renaissance English at the University of Kentucky. In 1963 he became companion-secretary to C.S. Lewis, a post he filled for the remaining months of the Professor's life. Still resident in Oxford, Father Hooper is one of the trustees of the C.S. Lewis Estate and a recognized authority
on the Professor's works.
