Gold fever has broken out in Alaska. Tramp Charlie is also looking for wealth and happiness. But life as a gold digger is relentless and perilous. To make matters worse, Charlie also falls in love with the attractive saloon dancer Georgia, who, however, ridicules his advances.
Chaplin considered "Gold Rush" his best film. In an inimitable manner, Chaplin proves to be a virtuoso of slapstick comedy. Unforgotten are the famous bun dance scene, the dinner with the boiled shoe and the log cabin balancing on the abyss.
