"A Torony Hősei" (eredeti címén: The Guys) a 2001. szeptember 11-i New York-i terrortámadás árnyékában játszódó megható dráma. A történet, amely először Anne Nelson sikeres színpadi műveként debütált, majd filmmé adaptálták, két ember találkozásáról szól a tragédia utáni időszakban. "The Guys" is a moving drama set in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York. The story, which began as a successful stage play by Anne Nelson before being adapted into film, centers on the meeting of two people during the period following the tragedy. Nick (Anthony LaPaglia) is a fire captain who lost eight of his best men in the collapse of the World Trade Center and is unable to process the trauma. Ten days after the catastrophe, he must deliver eulogies at his colleagues' funerals but cannot find the words. Joan (Sigourney Weaver), a writer, offers her help, although she is not personally affected by the tragedy, yet like all Americans, she is deeply shaken by the events. Their meeting develops into a special connection as they work together to process the pain of loss and help each other heal.

The play on which the film is based was written by Anne Nelson and premiered at New York's Flea Theater just 12 weeks after the September 11 attacks. The piece was created remarkably quickly in response to the tragic events and immediately generated significant resonance. Staged with minimal scenery and only two characters, the drama processed communal grief in an intimate and honest way.
