About the Author:
Remmers grew up in Westerstede and went to school there as well. He then studied English and French philology at the University of Heidelberg; his master's thesis dealt with the prefix un in Old English. [2] In the following 15 years, he worked in a steel industry company, most recently as a sales manager; since 1981 he is a freelance act as a travel preacher and author in the circles of the free-church fraternal movement.
In his spare time Remmers deals with Low German dialectology and name research. For his study From Aaltukerei to Zwischenmooren: The settlement names between Dollart and Jade (2004), he was awarded in 2006 with the Wilhelmine Siefkes Prize of the city of Leer; the laudation was held by Hermann Niebaum, a professor at the University of Groningen.
Remmers is married and lives in Schwelm.

A Filippieknek írt levél az Újszövetség egyik legszemélyesebb és legmelegebb hangú levele. Az Úr Jézus megaláztatásáról és felmagasztalásáról, valamint dicsőséges eljöveteléről szóló leírásai nagyon szívhez szólóak. Ugyancsak meghatóak az apostolról és munkatársairól szóló tudósítások.

An interpretation of the Letter to the Philippians.
The letter to the Philippians is one of the most personal and warmest letters of the New Testament. The short passages about the humiliation and exaltation of the Lord Jesus and about His coming are very much to the heart. Likewise the short reports about the author and his coworkers.
The letter also has a very practical purpose. He shows us that "the doctrine of Christ" is not a theory but should and can be realized in all the circumstances of life in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Last but not least, this 1st century letter is also a challenge for every Christian in the 21st century. For it becomes clear: for the writer, the experienced Paul, life was only Christ. And he was not dissuaded from his goal - to win Christ.
The letter was written in captivity in Rome. It is all the more astonishing that he speaks of joy more than any other New Testament letter.
