Overview
"You Rang, M’Lord?" is a classic British comedy series written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, presented here as the complete boxset of Series One through Four. Set ten years after World War I, the series follows the reunion of Alf Stokes and James Twelvetrees, who both find themselves employed by the aristocratic Lord Meldrum and his family.
The show humorously explores the clash of personalities between the honest James and the cunning Alf, whose schemes to pilfer from the Meldrum fortunes embroil the household. Romantic entanglements abound, with Ivy and Miss Poppy vying for James’s affections, while the “not so” Honourable Teddy’s dubious pursuits of the downstairs staff land him in trouble. Even Lord Meldrum leads a secretive affair, adding layers of intrigue and comedy.
Filled with shenanigans both above and below stairs, this series offers a delightful blend of period humor and character-driven comedy.
