Overview

Paul Vitti (Robert De Niro), the feared mafia boss, is back and once again surprising his guards in prison. Lately, he has taken to wandering around his cell with a goofy smile and spontaneously bursting into show tunes. Is Vitti truly losing his mind, or is this another clever ploy? The prison authorities turn to the only man who might have the answer: his psychiatrist, Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal). Sobel soon finds himself with an unexpected houseguest as Vitti is released into his custody for "intensive treatment". As Vitti tries to "go straight" and find a legitimate job, Sobel’s life is once again turned upside down by the dangerous, unpredictable, and hilariously neurotic mobster.
