Kexek is a stunning tribute album by The Qualitons, one of Hungary’s most internationally acclaimed contemporary psych-rock bands. On this record, the group reimagines five iconic songs from the legendary underground cult band Kex, which was active between 1968 and 1971. Led by the enigmatic Baksa-Soós János, Kex was a pioneer of the Hungarian avant-garde, and their influence remains immense despite their limited surviving recorded output.

The Qualitons don't just cover these tracks; they expand them into sprawling, psychedelic journeys. With deep grooves, jazz-fusion sensibilities, and masterful arrangements, the band breathes new life into "Piros madár," "Család," and "Csillagok ne ragyogjatok." A Kexek a kortárs magyar pszichedelikus rock egyik legfontosabb zenekara, a The Qualitons tisztelgése a legendás Kex együttes előtt. A lemezen öt kultikus dalt értelmeztek újjá, amelyek eredetileg 1968 és 1971 között születtek a Baksa-Soós János vezette formáció műhelyében. A Kex a magyar avantgárd és underground zene megkerülhetetlen alapköve, hatásuk a mai napig érezhető.
