Description:
Two long-unavailable albums on one CD that illustrate why the Heath band has become an institution in Britain. A five-minute standing ovation at Carnegie Hall on 1 May 1956 prompted the New York Times to say the Heath band was ‘louder than Kenton and a lot more fun’, as good a summary as any of that historic Carnegie concert, reissued here for the first time since the original Decca vinyl almost forty years ago.
