• The original Slade Alive! (1972) was recorded over three nights at Command Theatre Studio in London for a tiny audience of just 300 fans, yet it captured a sound massive enough to fill stadiums.
• Their performance at the 1980 Reading Festival was a last-minute replacement for Ozzy Osbourne. It was so successful that it single-handedly revitalized their career and led to a new recording contract.
• Noddy Holder once remarked that they wanted the live albums to sound "raw and sweaty," intentionally avoiding the heavy overdubbing common in 70s live releases.
