English: Housesitter is a delightful romantic comedy featuring Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn, demonstrating the hilarious consequences of “flexibly” handling the truth. Newton Davis (Steve Martin), an architect, finds his dreams shattered when his girlfriend Becky (Dana Delany) rejects his marriage proposal, turning his newly built house into a monument of rejection. But everything changes when he meets Gwen (Goldie Hawn), who takes over the house and turns Newton’s life upside down. Gwen quickly fixes up the house, wins over Newton’s family and neighbors, and even befriends Becky, showing her a side of Newton she never knew. Although amazed, Newton finds himself caught up in Gwen’s schemes, including efforts to smooth family disputes and help Newton get promoted at work. However, by the time Gwen is convinced to “divorce” Newton so he can be with Becky, her heart has already found someone else.
