Le choix des oeuvres s'avère brillant. Le jeu délicat d' I. Södergren sait aussi se montrer autoritaire dans les 2 rhapsodies qui débutent le récital. Les intimes pièces de l'Opus 118 trouvent en elle la sensibilité nécessaire sans sensiblerie.
Un magnifique récital d'une grande pianiste. 

These performances are deeply moving. Never maudlin or melodramatic but always emotionally engaging. I seems to me that Ms. Sodergren understands Brahms' intentions. She doesn't play with precision of, say, Glenn Gould. While I appreciate precision and often love Gould's interpretations, Ms. Sodergren captures the many moods and feelings of these pieces more than others I've heard. The same goes for her wonderful Beethoven album. These two albums have become the benchmark against which I measure all other performances of the same pieces. The recording quality could be better but it's not bad especially considering it's from 1980.
