Overview

"First Sunday" is a laugh-out-loud comedy starring Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan as two small-time criminals who hatch a plan to rob their local church to solve their respective financial problems. When Durrel Washington (Ice Cube) is sentenced to 5,000 hours of community service, he decides to take matters into his own hands by following the principle "God helps those who help themselves" – quite literally. With his slow-witted friend LeeJohn (Morgan) as his accomplice, they break into a church only to discover that someone else has already stolen the money! Forced to take the entire congregation hostage, they conduct an impromptu confession session to discover which of the seemingly virtuous church members has broken the seventh commandment. This hilarious caper combines outrageous comedy with unexpected heart as the would-be criminals find themselves caught in a situation that may lead to their redemption.
