Father Brown (released in some regions as The Detective) stars the legendary Alec Guinness as G.K. Chesterton's world-famous clerical sleuth. In this splendid comedy thriller, the humble priest discovers that Flambeau (Peter Finch), an international art thief, plans to steal a priceless cross once owned by Saint Augustine. Delighted by the opportunity to match wits with such a renowned criminal, Father Brown embarks on a journey that takes him deep into the catacombs of Paris. When Flambeau outwits him during their first encounter, the amateur sleuth must find a way to lure the master criminal out of hiding, recover the cross, and attempt to save Flambeau's immortal soul in the process.
