Térjen vissza a 16. századba az Egri Csillagok című, 1968-ban készült monumentális filmalkotással, amely Gárdonyi Géza halhatatlan regényét viszi vászonra. A történet Bornemissza Gergely és Cecey Éva sorsát követi nyomon a török hódoltság idején. A cselekmény Gergely gyermekkorától, a félszemű Jumurdzsák fogságából való szabadulásától egészen az 1552-es egri várvédők hősies küzdelméig tart. Dobó István kapitány vezetésével az egri várvédők – köztük a bátor egri nők – bebizonyítják, hogy a haza védelme minden áldozatot megér.
