• The Historic Instrument: The organ used for this recording was built in 1763 by the Viennese master Johann Hencke. It is unique in Czechoslovakia for its placement, connected to the playing desk via a 3-meter long tunnel through a masonry wall.
• Ferdinand Klinda: A prolific Slovak organist and pedagogue, Klinda has performed across Europe and the USA. He was awarded the State Prize of Klement Gottwald in 1971 for his contributions to the art of organ playing.
• Lost and Found: Haydn’s Concerto No. 2 in C major (Hoboken XVIII:8) was considered lost until H.C. Robbins Landon identified three manuscript copies in Czechoslovakia.
• Vaňhal’s Versatility: Jan Křtitel Vaňhal was a prolific composer of the Viennese Classical school. His Concerto in C was discovered in the archives of the Bratislava City Hall.
