Overview

Based on a true story, Moneyball follows Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), the general manager of the Oakland Athletics, as he faces a crisis. After losing his star players to big-market teams, Beane is forced to rebuild his low-budget squad by discarding old-fashioned scouting "wisdom." Despite fierce opposition from management, the media, fans, and even his own field manager (Philip Seymour Hoffman), Beane chooses a different path.
