Overview

Beasts of the Southern Wild is a visually stunning and deeply moving independent film that captured the hearts of audiences and critics worldwide. Six-year-old Hushpuppy lives in a remote Louisiana bayou community called "The Bathtub," separated from the civilized world. Here, the community lives in harmony with their animals, celebrating every day as a festival. Hushpuppy lives with her beloved but stern father, Wink, in a world where the line between myth and reality is thin.

When a hundred-year storm stirs the waters around the bayou, and her father suddenly falls ill, ancient creatures known as Aurochs are released from the melting ice caps. These prehistoric beasts threaten to consume the world as Hushpuppy knows it. Our little hero must quickly learn how to repair the fragile world and face the unstoppable forces of nature and life with gigantic courage.

A messzi dél vadjai az utóbbi évek egyik legünnepeltebb független filmje, amely vizuálisan lenyűgöző és mélyen megható módon mutatja be egy kislány küzdelmét. A hatéves Hushpuppy a civilizált világtól távol, a Teknőnek nevezett elmaradt kis településen él. A Teknő egy elfeledett hely, ahol a közösség tagjai egyenként élnek az állataikkal, s közben valódi ünnepként élik meg a hétköznapokat.
