This is not an album for the standard prog lover. You must have an open mind to experimental, industrial and real progressive music. If you like King Crimson influenced bands you could give it a try. But it is not King Crimson music; there is just some KC flavour in the guitar bits. The music has a lot of influences but the mix they make of it is highly original. And it is never boring. It is not my favourite type of music but I must admit that I have listened to the album a lot of times and always have played the whole album because it is intriguing and original. And that is just what progressive music is about.
Az after@all zenéje, amit maguk futurockként definiálnak. A lemez dalain végigvonul egyfajta sci-fi vonal, mind a szövegek mind a hangszerelés esetében. Sampler betétekre, space-es billentyűszőnyegekre, futurisztikus gitárszólamokra építkezik KjU énekes változatos énektémáival. Mégis, ezt a jövőt idéző szigorú zenei világot, állandóan át, meg átszövik a klasszikus európai és progresszív rendszereket jellemző érzelemdús, dallamcentrikusabb epizódok. Ennél a pontnál lehetne megfogni az after@all zenei világának különlegességét. Repertoárjuk a zongora-hangszínnel támogatott lírától, a komplex, art rockos témákon át a legsúlyosabb nu metalt idéző riff hegyekig terjed. Mindezt sikerült úgy ötvözniük a zseniális, fiatal muzsikusoknak, hogy megértették a különböző műfajok lényegét. Nem kiforratlan kollázzsal állunk szemben, hanem valóban egyedi, egységes stílussá olvasztott kompozícióval.
A hatásokat tovább boncolva a Korn, Deftones vagy FreshFabrik mellett ugyanolyan hangsúlyosan felbukkannak a 70-es évek nagy progresszív zenekarai: a King Crimson, a Genesis vagy a Yes, de ha figyelmesen többször végigpörgetjük az anyagot láthatjuk, hogy a srácok jól ismerik a Tool, a Faith No More vagy a Voivod úttörő munkásságát is.
