Kod nas među vjernicima koji svoju vjeru i praksu temelje isključivo na Bibliji, već dugo postoji potreba za dosljednim prijevodom koji se temelji na tradicionalnim tekstovima Staroga i Novoga zavjeta.Hebrejska Biblija sačuvana je zalaganjem drevnih prepisivača koji su iz naraštaja u naraštaj vrlo savjesno prepisivali izvorni tekst. Židovi su imali golemo strahopoštovanje prema svojim svetim spisima, koje su smatrali Božjim proročanskim riječima.
