Középkori eredetű templomait a háborúk, természeti csapások ellenére többnyire sikeresen őrizte meg, újította fel és gazdagította hosszú évszázadok alatt az itt élt nemzedékek sora. Nagy értékű e vidék építé- szetének számos ránk maradt darabja. Egyházi épületei a fafaragás, a szobrászat, a festészet mesterművei, a falusi templomok az építészet remekbe szabott alkotásai. E könyv elsődleges célja tisztelgés e páratlan kincset ránk hagyó ősök előtt, és az érdeklődő elé tárni e sokáig megbújt örökség egyedülálló kincseit.
