Description:

The Gospel of Mark, very useful for Gospel outreach.

Nathaniel B. Halhead of the East India Company published a Bengali grammar for British officials in 1776. William Carey of Serampore translated the Bible into the Bengali language and published it in 1793 and 1801. The high language Bengali translation in use in Bangladesh is derived from Carey's version, while "common language" versions are newer translations.Fr. Christian Mignon, a Belgian Jesuit, finished a revised version of the Bible in Bengali, named Mangalbarta which has copious footnotes. Missionaries have also translated the Bible into "Musalmani Bangla", as well as the Sylheti dialect.

The Bengali Gospel of Mark is an outreach booklet that presents the Gospel of Mark from the New Testament in Bengali. This edition of the Gospel features an Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) translation produced by the World Bible Translation Center (WBTC) in 2009. The booklet is published by WBTC India, a Christian organization that produces and distributes literature in various Indian languages.

The Bengali Gospel of Mark is designed for outreach purposes and intended to be an accessible resource for those seeking to learn more about Christianity. The ERV translation uses simple vocabulary and sentence structure without sacrificing readability or accuracy.

The paperback format of the booklet makes it easy for individuals or organizations to distribute the Gospel to people in Bengali-speaking regions of India and other parts of the world. The Gospel may be used by Christian evangelists and missionaries as an evangelistic tool, or by Bengali-speaking churches and Bible study groups to teach and disciple new believers.

The Bengali Gospel of Mark may be particularly useful for Bengali speakers who are new to Christianity or have limited exposure to the language. The clear and easy-to-understand translation can help make the Gospel message accessible to those who may not be familiar with Christian terminology or concepts.

Overall, the Bengali Gospel of Mark published by WBTC India is a valuable resource for Christians and Christian organizations seeking to share the message of salvation with Bengali speakers in India and around the world.

The intended purpose of the Bengali Gospel of Mark booklet is to share the message of salvation through Jesus Christ with Bengali speakers in a way that is clear and understandable. It may be used by Christian evangelists and missionaries as an evangelistic tool to introduce people to the Gospel and to encourage them to consider the claims of Christianity.

The booklet may also be used by Bengali-speaking churches and Bible study groups as a teaching resource to help believers grow in their understanding of the Gospel message. Overall, the Bengali Gospel of Mark is an important resource for Christians seeking to share the Gospel with Bengali speakers in India and around the world.
