English Summary:

Sharpe is a British television series of stories starring Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, a fictional British soldier in the Napoleonic Wars, with Irish actor Daragh O'Malley playing his sidekick Patrick Harper. Sharpe and Harper are the heroes of a number of novels by Bernard Cornwell; most, though not all, of the episodes are based on the books. Produced by Celtic Films and Picture Palace Films for the ITV network, the series was shot mainly in Crimea, a few episodes in Turkey, although some filming was also done in England, Portugal and Spain. Two series were filmed in India.

Sharpe's Eagle is the second in the series of Sharpe historical war television dramas, based on the novel of the same name. Shown on ITV in 1993, the adaptation stars Sean Bean, Daragh O'Malley and Assumpta Serna.

In 1809, Sir Arthur Wellesley, commander of the British forces in the Iberian Peninsula, prepares to invade French-controlled Spain. He orders Lieutenant Richard Sharpe and his band of "chosen men" to accompany the arrogantly incompetent, newly arrived Sir Henry Simmerson and his South Essex Regiment on a small, but significant mission to destroy a bridge vital to French troop movements. Simmerson, his nephew Lieutenant Gibbons (Neil Dudgeon) and Lieutenant Berry (Daniel Craig) despise Sharpe for his low birth. However, Major Lennox (David Ashton), who knew Sharpe from their days in India, and American-born Captain Leroy (Gavan O'Herlihy) appreciate his military skill and sense of honour.

Richard Sharpe nem a szavak embere, amin nincs is mit csodálkozni. Egy szajha törvénytelen gyermekeként jön a világra, aztán hadnagy lesz belőle. A hadseregbe a börtön elől menekül, de 15 közlegényként eltöltött év után rangos tisztséget tölt be már az 1800-as évek elején. Kiderül az is, hogyan lesz az alávaló hadnagyból igazi, vérbeli parancsnok és vezető, kire felnéznek katonái.
